General information about the Echinodorus Ozelot Red

Discover the beauty of the Echinodorus Ozelot Rood; a stunning aquarium plant perfect for the mid-range and background of your aquarium. With its enchanting red spots on its green leaves, this plant is an excellent choice for combining with predominantly green plants. Even in low light, this plant retains its vibrant colors. With its compact size, the Echinodorus Ozelot Rood can grow quite tall. This aquarium plant is easy to care for and grows quickly, making it a beautiful addition to your underwater world.

When placing the Echinodorus Ozelot Rood in your aquarium, it's important to first carefully remove the protective root wool. Use tweezers to free the roots. Then, carefully tear off any damaged leaves, leaving only the beautiful ones. Carefully trim the roots with scissors, but be careful not to cut them too short. Then, plant the Echinodorus Ozelot Rood firmly in the substrate of your aquarium.

Propagating the Echinodorus Ozelot Rood is the same as propagating other rosette plants, namely via runners. By lightly trimming the plant, you stimulate the production of a stress hormone, which results in the growth of runners. These runners will produce smaller versions of the plant. Once they reach a length of 5 centimeters, you can move them to another location in your aquarium. You can also choose to leave them, so that a whole row of small cuttings is formed. Keep in mind that this requires more energy from the mother plant and that the main plant may disappear over time. However, it does offer the opportunity to obtain more new plants. Provide sufficient nutrients and building blocks to keep the plant healthy and strong.

If the plant's leaves turn brown, this could indicate an iron deficiency. In that case, add Easy Life Root Sticks or Easy Life Ferro to provide the plant with extra iron.

Please note that the Echinodorus Ozelot Rood is a bog plant. This means it naturally occurs in shallow waters and grows partly above water. Above water, this plant develops leaves with a different structure than underwater; they are often thicker. As soon as you place the plant underwater, it will lose these thicker leaves and develop thinner chlorophyll. Don't be alarmed if your plant partially dies back after planting. As long as the crown is still green, your plant is still

alive and probably in transition.

Experience the beauty and vitality of the Echinodorus Ozelot Red in your aquarium and create a vibrant and colorful underwater environment!
