Want to detach the Anubias? No problem! Remove the lava rock and use it as decoration or filter material. This keeps the Anubias clean and gives you more control over your aquascape. ✨

Hoe snoei je Anubias barteri ?

Pruning yourAnubias Barteriis an important step in keeping this beautiful plant healthy and full. This plant grows via a rhizome, which means you need to pay attention to both the roots and the leaves.

Pruning Rhizomes

If you want to propagate, make sure you have a rhizome with at least four leaf layers, approximately 3 cm long. This is crucial for good root growth. You can determine the length yourself, but we recommend cutting at least 3 cm. The more plant mass you have, the faster and easier the plant will grow. A larger cutting will take root more easily than one that is too small. Use sharp scissors to cut the rhizome to the correct length and plant the cutting directly in the soil or attach it to pieces of wood or rocks in your aquarium.

Peeling Leaves

When peeling leaves, you can carefully remove the old, healthy leaves. This allows new growth to grow and keeps your Anubias Barteri looking neat. However, this plant has longer petioles, so be extra careful not to damage the leaves when pruning.

Pruning this way will help your Anubias barteri grow healthily and vigorously in your aquarium. Remember, it's a slow grower, so patience is key! 🌱

With us, the Anubias Barteri is ready to plant in your aquarium. This beautiful plant has already partially transformed into its underwater form (submersed), meaning you can plant it right away!

Normally an Anubias needs 8 to 10 weeks to fully adapt when submerged, but thanks to our unique cultivation methods it starts growing immediately.
