👉 Looking for a playful, natural scape? Add Rorippa aquatica to your cart and give your aquarium that real shoreline look.

Rorippa aquatica is an easy stem plant to grow. With a few clumps, you can quickly create a beautiful, airy clump that looks like you've just recreated a riverbank.

  1. Carefully remove the plant from its pot and remove as much of the rockwool as possible from between the roots. If necessary, rinse briefly under the tap.
  2. Cut the stems into neat pieces of about 8–12 cm. Make small bunches of 3–5 stems per group.
  3. Use aquascaping tweezers to place the clumps straight into the soil, leaving some space between the clumps to create an airy, natural look.
  4. Plant it in the middle to back area of your aquarium so it can grow nicely and not overshadow other plants.
  5. Provide sufficient light and, if possible, extra CO₂ and plant food so that it takes root quickly and remains a nice, fresh green.

Tip:Combine Rorippa aquatica with a goodplant foodand possibly aCO₂ systemfor the most beautiful, full growth. A fineaquascaping tweezersalso makes planting a lot easier.

Because Rorippa aquatica is a fast-growing stem plant, pruning is simply part of its life. Fortunately, pruning is the same as taking cuttings: you can create new plants from every pruning.

  • Pruning (topping):If the plant grows too tall or too wild, simply cut off the tips to the desired height. This keeps the shape compact and prevents it from taking up all the light.
  • Cuttings:You can replant the cut tops directly into the soil. Make sure each cutting has a few leaves and a healthy stem. These cuttings usually sprout quickly.
  • Clearing old stems:If the bottom of the stem becomes old, bare, or less attractive, you can remove the old base and replace it with young, fresh cuttings. This way, your bunch will always stay full and fresh.
  • Regularity:It's better to prune small amounts regularly than a large amount at once. This keeps the plant healthier and your aquascape looking consistently neat.

With a little pruning and planting, you can easily create a whole bank full of Rorippa aquatica from a single clump. Before you know it, you'll be wondering when exactly you opened a plant shop in your living room. 🌿🐟
