    An important tip for successfully growing Alternanthera Rosanervig is to ensure the plant can absorb sufficient CO2. When sufficient nutrients are available, the plant will require more intense light and a higher CO2 level. Manually adding CO2 is essential to promote plant health and growth. A CO2 deficiency can lead to problems such as beard algae, filamentous algae, or dot algae; leaf-wracked leaves; and rapid growth and stretching.

    How to plant

    The planting ofstem plantslike the Alternanthera rosanervig can be done in different ways, depending on what you want to achieve in your aquarium. Because this variantsubmers grownIf it is, it adapts faster and often grows more rapidly. Start with a normal photoperiod of 6–8 hours and gradually increase the photoperiod if necessary, to prevent algae stress.

    Divide the bunch into separate cuttings and place themloosely in a nutrient-rich substrate, with about 2–3 cm between them. This way, the stems get enough light and circulation without being in each other's shadow. This ensures healthier and fuller growth in the long run.

    When planting you canfingerUse the stem to plant it about 2 cm deep, or use an aquascaping tool for more precision. Then, very carefully pull the stem back up to about 1.5 cm. This prevents the lower parts from rotting. After planting, check that the stems don't float and press them down lightly if necessary.

    With this approach, your Alternanthera rosanervig will grow into a strong, healthy mid- or background plant with those typical pink veins that make your scape pop.

    Pruning

    Regularly pruning your stem plant is an excellent way to stimulate its growth and volume! By cutting back the tops, you encourage it to grow wider and fuller. Each pruned stem will eventually produce two new stems, giving your plant a longer, fuller appearance.

    Use shears for a clean cut; this promotes rapid healing and prevents damage. Although you can also prune with your fingernail, shears provide a cleaner cut. Make sure you cut between the nodes – these are the nodes on the stem where leaves and branches grow.Leave at least three layers of leavesKeep the plant in a cool, dry place so it retains enough leaves for effective photosynthesis.
